Operations
Does the checkout stop if the internet goes down?
No. The POS keeps selling, stores each sale on the device with its own numbering and syncs automatically when the connection returns, with per-item results and no duplicate sales.
Does it work for multiple companies and stores?
Yes. Many companies and stores live in the same environment, with permissions per company and per store and a consolidated network view.
Does it track lots and expiry for perishables?
Yes. Lots and expiry are tracked in inventory, sales respect reservations and quarantines, lots near expiry can be marked down (with approval) and recalls reach every store holding the lot or its derivatives.
Does it support restaurants and food service?
Yes. The POS has tables, tabs, kitchen and print queue, combos and add-ons, and sales with delivery.
Tax
Are you ready for Brazil's tax reform?
The tax engine computes IBS and CBS on the transition schedule and keeps ICMS, PIS and COFINS while they remain in force. Tax rules go through approval before taking effect.
What happens if a product has no tax rule?
The system never silently applies zero tax: it opens a task with an owner and a deadline, and issuing stays blocked until the rule is approved.
How do supplier invoices come in?
You import the authorized NF-e XML. Monalisa verifies the signature, access key and recipient CNPJ, links the invoice to the order and holds the receipt in quarantine if there's a mismatch.
Does it work in the United States?
Yes, for sales tax: tax is calculated by jurisdiction (state and ZIP) and blocked when there's no jurisdiction or approved product taxability. 1099 reporting is also included.
AI, security & data
Can the AI change my data on its own?
Not without rules. Every action the assistant proposes shows a preview and requires confirmation, respects the user's permissions and an autonomy budget set by the company.
How does the audit trail work?
Every relevant change is written in the same transaction as the change, in an append-only table sealed in a hash chain. Any tampering breaks the chain and is detected.
Is my company's data kept separate from other customers?
Yes. Monalisa is multi-tenant with isolation in every table and query, and files are kept in private object storage.
How does Monalisa help with LGPD?
Purpose-based consent with evidence, data subject reports, revocation propagated to integrations with receipts and personal data masked in the audit trail.
